RACING HISTORY

Since the 1800s, towards the future,
on a racing bike.
The beginning of an era
The story of Drali and racing began in the days of Carlo Drali, Giuseppe's father, when he met Edoardo Bianchi, who entrusted him with the responsibility of the racing department. There, Carlo had the opportunity to meet the professional cyclists of the time - among them Girardengo, Olmo, Aspisi, and the track rider Bergomi - and to prepare their Bianchi-branded bicycles for various races.
A special collaboration
Once the Bicicletteria Drali was established, that passion for racing was applied to the new brand, which made its debut in 1933 with the Coppa Drali, a competition that, unfortunately, had to be discontinued in 1940 due to the war.

Once Fausto Coppi was signed by Bianchi, Carlo and young Peppino were entrusted with preparing the champion’s first bicycle, the one he would later ride to victory at the 1946 Milan–Sanremo.

"Specialissime" bicycles

In the early 1960s, at the amateur level, Drali’s Specialissime bicycles started to stand out, soon becoming the official bikes of Sporting Club Genova and supplying renowned amateur teams of the era, including KIMSA and BONI.

In the 1970s, after Bianchi’s racing department was closed, Drali was entrusted with acting as a true reparto corse, building custom-made bicycles for athletes seeking tailor-made performance.
The new “racing teams”
The activities of the Reparto Corse were revived in 2018 with the creation of Steel Drali, a team mainly dedicated to fixed-gear racing, using custom steel Drali bicycles with handcrafted lugs.

From this experience, the brand’s racing spirit was reborn, leading to a renewed focus on road competitions. This evolution continued in 2019 with the birth of DRALI MILANO and collaborations with the Team Asnaghi and Asnaghi Gran Fondo.
A bicycle has a soul.
If you learn to love it,
it will give you emotions
you will never forget.
