process

The lugged steel frame is the classic model that has been part of Drali’s production since its beginnings.

The process starts with investment-cast lugs and steel tubing.

The lugs are hand-finished with special files to achieve a perfect shape and can be personalized with the typical playing card symbols, and optionally with the initials of the future owner.

Together with the front and rear dropouts, the brake bridge and brake mounts with the Drali logo, the head tube and seat tube lugs, the bottom bracket shell, and the fork crown, they make up the complete frame kit.

Once the kit is ready, it is sent to production along with the tubing for welding

The brazing is carried out in our workshops in Italy, as the Drali handcrafted frame is a Made in Italy product.

Once brazed, the frame is chrome-plated. The chrome plating and polishing prepare the frame perfectly for painting.

The painting of the frame and fork is carried out in Italy. Once the color is agreed upon, the frame is filled and prepared. It is then painted, the logos and decorations are applied, and finally finished with a top coat of clear lacquer that perfectly seals everything.
The color is applied and the logos are positioned and when everything is perfect a last layer of transparent topcoat is applied which finishes everything perfectly.
