WRAPPED CARBON
The carbon frame is a high-end product that uses carbon wraps to join its components together.
Manufacturing
COMPONENTS
The carbon frame is produced by uniting carbon components with a layered carbon wrap at the union points between the different components.
The process begins with the production of the components, which are essentially equivalent to the tubes used in steel frames.
Each component is produced using dedicated aluminum molds, which serve to give each piece the correct shape.
WRAPS
The laminator begins by cutting the carbon fiber, like a tailor, according to the measurements of the patterns, and prepares them to be placed in the mold.
SATURATE
Once the carbon layers are positioned, they are uniformly permeated with resin and a bag is inserted which once inside the autoclave it forces the carbon by pressure to adhere the mold perfectly.
MOUNTING THE FRAME
Once ready, the molds are inserted into autoclaves at the appropriate pressure and temperature.
The individual pieces are then placed in a form where they are ready to be wrapped.
The compound frame is then inspected and polished to eliminate the impurities and imperfections of the process and are ready for a last final application of resin.
PAINTING
At this point the frame is ready for painting.
